Bluespoon AX Review

Now I have tested the Bluespoon AX for about two weeks and thought I should write a short review. When it had charged for about 8 hours as the manual said (allthough it seemed done much faster) I begun to try it out.

EARPIECES and FIT
The AX comes with two earpieces, one larger and one smaller. I prefere the larger, since it goes a bit deeper into the ear and thus makes the sound better. The fit is good, there is little risk to drop the AX once placed. And allthough its possible to use on both ears I allmost only use the left. The very first day I got a bit "tired" in the ear and wanted to change side, but you get used to it, and now I don“t feel when wearing it. Several times i have tried to answer my landline in the same ear as i have the earpice, which wont work, and once i almost wore it in the shower because i forget i had it in! Since i cut of a pece of the earpice (as you are supposed to do) it fits even better. As someone else wrote thought, you actually might have to rinse the earpice now and then.

TURNING ON, PAIRING and PROFILES
You turn the AX on by pressing the main button for apx. four seconds, then it flashes blue (when turning on) or red (when turning off) and confirms with a sound. The sound is only hearable with the AX in the ear. The first thing to do is to pair the device with your phone. There are two profiles that phones can suport, Handsfree or Headset, the AX supports both. The Handsfree profile is a bit more advanced. The main feature that distinguishes them is that when you get a phonecall and your phone is paired and bluetooth turned on, you can emidiatly press the main button on the headset to connect the call to the AX. With the Headset profile you have to wait for the call to transfer, which takes about six (6) signals on my z600. That is a bit too long. If you use the Headset profile, you can of course answer using the phone if you choose.

SOUND, BATTERY TIME AND RANGE
The sound is very good, it could be louder, but works fine. I used a paperclip to somewhat widen the small hole where the sound passes into the ear. The mic seems to work very well, allthough it is placed rather far from the mouth. None that I have spoken with have complained. The range is good, according to the manual it is about 10 m. I have noticed some distortion however when moving the phone while talking, for instance taking it out of a bag or changing pocket. The battery time is excellent! I have charged it twice since i got it for about two weeks ago.

OTHER
I got a bit surprised that the AX flashes blue every 10 seconds, although i use my hair to hide it everybody notices it. It cant be turned of it seames. I sometimes use the strap that comes with it, but it feels a bit unsafe and I rather keep the AX in a pocket.
