"In support of our incredibly brave friends in Burma: May all people around the world wear a red shirt on Friday, September 28th."

Payday shopping tip: BLACKMARKET

I went to check out Black Market the other day, and i would say it has potential, and helps Rörstrandsgatan to become an even deeper shopping puddle. Although it resides at St Eriksgatan 79. Not cheap, but quite nice gear and friendly staff.

Balance! Oscar winner in "best animation" 1990

When i lived in Germany in 1993, the Schuntille Kino screened this one as a pre-flick prior to the main attraction Schtonk (also a brilliant movie). Balance is a 7 minute contemplation over the human ego, if you will. take a look.

Thank you tom-tom, where would we be without your web 2.0 Staubsauger?

Men's Cup II in Synchronized Swimming!

Men's Cup Synchronized Swimming!

For the second time ever, the Men's Cup in Synchronized swimming took place, and this time in Stockholm. There were five competing teams from Sweden, Holland, Italy, France and Germany. The entertainment was the lovely Sweptaways and Süperstar Orchestar, which also lead the way to the after party at Clarion Hotel.

video

Watch the video above to see how Stockholm Konstsim Herr wins the bronze medal. The video is 9 minutes long, and shows some really interesting floating formations like "The German Leg" and "The Meat Raft".

The Czech team, formation 1

The Czech team, formation 2

The Czech team, formation 3

The winning Dutch team, "Amsterdam Upstream".

Another great formation

However, the most embarrassing moment was probably when yours truly, actually and accidentally dropped a meat ball, yeas, correct, a meat ball from a sandwich, over the ledge from the second floor, down in the pool. Seconds before Italys team entered the water. You can see it, like a little turd, on the bottom of the pool.

The Sweptaways entertained between the acts

Superstar Orchestar played and lead the way to the after party at Clarion Hotel

Swedish fall fasion...

Swedish male magazine King lists their favorite suits for fall 2007. Hallelujah for individual freedom!

That said, i do like a nice suit.

Shantaram

Mr. Roberts at the book signing in Stockholm.

When Gregory David Roberts visited Stockholm to promote his novel Shantaram, I went to listen and pick up a copy. Short factoid about Gregory David Roberts:

Sentenced to prison for armed robbery with a toy gun and a heroin addiction, Roberts escapes from the maximum security prison after being tortured and beaten on a daily basis. He ends up in the Bombay slum setting up a clinic, but also becomes a forgeror, black market dealer, smuggler and finally works for the mafia, is forced to war and, again, ends up in prison being brutally tortured. He writes down his story in close to 1000 pages, and it becomes a best seller. The man himself, i must say after meeting him, was a true original.
