Today we celebrate the fall of the Berlin Wall! Yes we do!

Construction of the Berlin Wall in August 1961 - photo from University of Utah, by Corey Hatch.

Tearing down the wall on nov 9th 1989.

Today, Germany, and the rest of the sane people, celebrate the fall of the Berlin Wall. One of the most ridiculous and yet vicious experiments of the last decades.

At the same time, check out this gal, who is in love with, and married to (and therefore also named to) the Berlin Wall! The fetish is called Objectúm-sexuality, and is actually created by her, so be sure to check out her link to "sexy fences"... Another form of this -ism, involves a homosexual man from New York, Mark Allen, falling in love with his PowerMac G3. Read some more about Objectúm-sexuality here.

Queens Museum of Art

New York in 3D scale

I went to Queens Museum of Art, where they have this super big and super detailed model of the entire city of New York. Not just Manhattan, but all of the five burroughs! Its incredibly detailed, and yet very very large. Every street, every building, and every window is there. The model is made during the 60s, but updated in the 90s. Impressive, to say the least.

Alligator for dinner...

Yesterday we had alligator for dinner.

We went to Mara's home made on Lower East Side yesterday, and as one of the apetizers we had to try the alligated. It was deep fried and tasted like chicken. It came in dices with a very nice sauce to dip them in. All in all a very tasty experience, but i would not recommend the restaurant for a fancier dinner.

Storm Thorgerson and Pink Floyd exebition

Since I am staying with the niece of Storm, amongst others, we went to see his New York exhibition in Hells Kitchen. It was pretty amazing to see the originals and different versions of the classic Pink Floyd covers up close. Enjoy some images from the opening. BTW, the Storm Studios tag line is "We design album covers for rock bands is what we do". How neat is that?

Spoken Word Poetry in New York

We went to see Karl Holmqvist perform with his poetry at a spoken word festival held at the Suisse Institute on Broadway. It was... different. In the tradition of Åke Hodell and Velvet Underground, this fades in to 3 shy minutes, but here goes.

New York #2

If you right click on these images and select "View image" you can see them in full size.

Staten Island Ferry terminal at south sea port is free, and runs 109 times a day

The ferries are big and orange, and takes about 25 minutes

This is the traditional Staten Island R2D2 mail box...

Taking the ferry is a good way of passing the Statue of Liberty up close, and for free.

And of course you also get a great view of the Manhattan Skyline

This is back in Midtown Manhattan

And this is a peak of what is beeing built at Ground Zero
